Whether you're on her side or not, the drama surrounding Paulina, Sloan, and Chanel is still a hot topic in the fandom.

Tensions are running high on Days of Our Lives (as if there is a time when they are not), and even though it has been months since Paulina covered up Chanel's big secret, fans are still divided into Team Sloan and Team Paulina.

The latter is still accused of being the villain, even though many fans actually side with her in what her critics see as an attempt to cover up a murder committed by Chanel.

Well, since this is a hot topic, some clarification is needed here. First of all, not everyone is ready to call what Chanel did a murder.

After all, all she did was move out of the way when Sloan's mother charged her.

Fine, but why cover it up? That's what other fans who prefer to side with Sloan say. There could be many reasons, but some people can't help but remember that this is a soap opera.

"Because on soaps every woman who ends up surviving an encounter in which someone else who was trying to hurt her dies covers it up rather than going to the cops and claiming self-defense/justification, so everything can blow up later," Redditor IvoryWoman said.

The whole "rooftop drama" is actually very complicated, with a lot of factors to consider, but many people still believe that Paulina was wrong to protect Chanel – even though her "cover-up" actually saved Chanel's (and even Sloan's father's) reputation.

After all, Paulina was acting to protect her daughter. No matter how wrong it was, many Days fans agree that they would do the same for their own child.

Since 2022, Days of Our Lives has been streaming on Peacock. Recently, the soap opera was renewed for two more years, meaning it will soon reach its 60-season milestone.
