David Harbour Gets Candid About Stranger Things 5 And When To Expect It
The actor revealed that he is "euphoric" about sprinting to the show's finale.
It has been over a year since the finale of Stranger Things season 4, which ended on a cliffhanger and left fans eager to see what happens next.
Considering that it will be a major conclusion to the events of the entire series, and that the final shot hinted at the Upside Down entering our dimension on an unprecedented scale, to say that expectations are extremely high would be an understatement.
However, much to the disappointment of countless fans, the show has been affected by the ongoing strikes, and production for the season has been put on hold with no clear answer as to when we can expect it.
In a recent interview with NME, David Harbour, who portrays Jim Hopper, one of the show's main "adult" characters, revealed how he feels about the show's end and when production might possibly resume.
The actor said that season 5 will be quite exciting and that he feels "euphoric" about racing to the end of this long journey.
As for when it will finally be released, Harbour believes that the creators are "committed to not shooting" until the negotiations reach an agreement.
However, he was surprised to hear the announcement of Linda Hamilton joining the cast of the show, as he didn't expect it to happen while the strike was still in effect.
Fans can't wait to see the long-awaited finale of the series after so much build-up in season 4.
However, some are jokingly pointing out that the actors playing the high schoolers (who are already around 20 years old) will be in their 30s by the time it is released.
This has already been a problem for the show, as the time jumps within the story were significantly shorter than the time between seasons in real life.
This naturally resulted in young actors aging while their characters remained children, which created a dissonance for some viewers.
With no indication as to when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes will end, there is currently no specific release date for Stranger Things season 5, although it is expected in the spring or summer of 2025.
