Daryl Dixon E5: Carol Said Someone 'Came Back,' But Who Exactly?
Has Rick returned already?
The recent and penultimate episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 1, titled Deux Amours, dropped a line that left viewers scratching their heads.
Spoiler alert for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon episode 5.
We saw Daryl's adventures in Freeport, Maine, and learned about his unexpected journey on a zombie-filled French cargo ship. The episode gave us a lot of answers, but left one big question hanging: who came back?
In the episode, Daryl had a radio chat with Carol, and she mentioned someone "came back." We can't possibly know for sure, and we might not get the answer even in the next and last episode. However, fans on Reddit took their wild guesses.
Rick Grimes
In season 9 of the main show, Rick heroically blew up a bridge to stop a horde of walkers and supposedly died. It was later revealed that Jadis took a severely injured Rick away in a CRM helicopter.
Rick ended up working at a Civic Republic Cull Facility. He is set to appear in the upcoming spin-off The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, but is it plausible he returned so soon? Unlikely.
Michonne
Michonne went on a quest to search for Rick, and her journey will continue in the upcoming spin-off The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. As we don’t hear the pronoun, Carol could have been meaning “they” (referring to Rick and Michonne) when she said someone “came back.”
Morgan
In the earlier seasons of The Walking Dead, Morgan has been trying to reconnect with Rick, leaving radio messages in hopes that Rick might hear them. It looks like his story came full circle. After a significant time jump in Fear the Walking Dead, the spinoff ended with Morgan leaving to find Rick.
Dwight
Daryl once told Dwight to leave and never return. But after several years, Dwight might be making his way back, especially since he's been spotted in familiar places with his wife, Sherry. Fans believe that either Dwight or Morgan is most likely to return.
Heath
It's been a while since we saw him last, and his disappearance has been one of those unsolved TWD mysteries. But it was confirmed that Heath was taken by CRM. It would be cool to see him, but it’s implausible that Carol would necessarily tell Daryl about him as if Heath was a really significant character.
