Another Disney theory that will turn your mind upside down.

At first glance, Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid, with a difference of 36 years, could have nothing in common. However, after both animated movies were recently adapted into live-action films, the good old fan theory was awakened again.

Does it mean that the fans with the help of the boy who doesn't want to grow up have finally solved the main secret of the underwater world? Let's dive in.

Ariel is the main character in The Little Mermaid and the seventh and last daughter of King Triton and Queen Athena.

While the King is a recurring character in both the animated and live-action films, Queen Athena never appeared onscreen and was only briefly mentioned in both films as her death was the cause of why Triton hated humans and never let his daughters on shore.

However, the 2008 animated prequel managed to give fans a brief glimpse of the young Queen and finally revealed the reasons for her death.

The animated prequel to The Little Mermaid revealed that Athena was killed by the pirate ship while celebrating her and Triton's wedding anniversary.

When the pirate ship appears next to the Mermaid Lagoon where the entire family was gathering, the mermaids decide to retreat, but one of Athena's daughters gets stuck.

To help her, the Queen puts herself in danger and ends up being crashed by a ship losing control. This situation has changed Triton and his perception of humans forever.

According to a fan theory connecting Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid, Captain Hook is believed to be the one who is responsible for the death of Ariel's mother.

While this theory is not supported by explicit evidence in The Little Mermaid, fans have drawn connections from the Peter Pan movie.

In a scene where Peter takes Wendy to Mermaid Lagoon, a place where mermaids gather near Neverland, one mermaid stands out due to her resemblance to Queen Athena, particularly in her red hair and greenish tail.

The scene ends when the mermaids flee in terror upon spotting Captain Hook approaching on his ship.

This suggests that Hook has already caused fear and harm to the mermaids in the past, making him a likely candidate for the ship that crushed Queen Athena in The Little Mermaid prequel.

Despite Disney 's attention to details, there has been no official comment on this theory, and even the recently released live-action movie didn't address the question.

However, this theory sounds quite vivid and has all the right to be explained one day (maybe in The Little Mermaid sequel?).
