Daniel Radcliffe Couldn't Stand Filming Everyone's Favorite Harry Potter Scenes
It wasn't always as magical as you'd think.
You can imagine the excitement of a child actor joining a production like Harry Potter.
Little did Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint know what a journey awaited them when they first arrived on the set.
Just like any other job, acting in a magical story is not all about working on spells and going on adventures.
Unfortunately for many children around the world who dreamed of riding their broomsticks high in the air, Radcliffe recalls that it was his least favorite part.
Harry's status as one of the most talented Quidditch players of all time has served him well throughout the franchise, but Daniel had to suffer greatly to get those shots.
"Quidditch is right up there with the least fun things I've done on 'Harry Potter', certainly. It's not a pleasant experience, it does hurt quite a lot, and it's not something I would rush back to," the actor told IndieLondon in 2009.
Unfortunately for the young actor, Quidditch was as much a constant in all the films as his own presence.
In fact, only one of the eight films did not require him to jump on a broomstick: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Other actors seemed to have more luck.
Tom Felton, who portrayed Draco Malfoy, even admitted to being relieved that he hadn't had to do it since the second film.
As uncomfortable as it was, all the actors seemed to have no trouble flying their broomsticks through the sky and maneuvering them to get the Golden Snitch.
In fact, after this portrayal, the game became quite popular among some muggle viewers, who hold contests up to this day.
If you are feeling nostalgic and want to re-watch the Harry Potter movies, you can stream them on MAX, Peacock or FuboTV.
