Cumberbatch Is Ready To Be Doctor Strange For 10 More Years, But Do We Need Him To?
Looks like British actor is more than willing to continue his tenure as Doctor Strange in the MCU for another decade, expressing his fondness for his beloved character.
Benedict Cumberbatch joined Marvel as the Sorcerer Supreme nearly six years ago, appearing in his first solo film directed by Scott Derrickson, earning stellar reviews from fans and critics alike. Since then, the actor has starred in five more Marvel films, including both recent 'Avengers' and the upcoming 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'. Cumberbatch is obviously very busy with his other acting duties, having starred in many movies over the past 6 years, but he doesn't seem to have tired of his Marvel character one bit.
Speaking to National Post, Cumberbatch revealed that if Marvel will "keep [Doctor Strange] evolving," he can think of "a lot of places for [me] to explore", confirming his readiness to wear the red Cloak of Levitation for another decade.
Fans of the character are certainly excited to hear this news, given Cumberbatch's status as one of the most beloved actors starring in MCU films.
However, some fans are worried about the actor's salary, concluding that he will only be able to continue acting in Marvel films if he decides not to ask for a significant pay raise – the thing Robert Downey Jr. famously did not do.
