If you're feeling extra emotional, maybe just wait a few more days before watching the latest episode.

When it comes to shows like CSI: Vegas, people don't always expect a lot of drama, preferring to stick to the action and detective side of things.

However, investigating crimes doesn't always mean being level-headed, and the characters of CSI: Vegas proved that to the show's viewers in the latest episode, leaving everyone in a hot emotional mess.

The episode called The Promise aired on CBS last Thursday, and those who were able to watch it live got a chance to experience raw emotion firsthand.

The producers had to carefully explore a lot of heavy and sensitive topics at once: a racially motivated hate crime, the murder of a child, the grief of a mother, and the dedication to fulfilling a promise for justice that was made four decades ago.

One might think that's a lot to pack into one episode. But CSI: Vegas' creator Anthony E. Zuiker confidently says it may be the best episode of his career.

"I learned from Carol Mendelsohn and Ann Donahue, Pam Veasey, female showrunners that taught me television. And while what makes CSI successful globally is great writing, fantastic mysteries and awesome actors, the glue that holds it together is the emotionality of episodes like this one.

When you have an emotional undercurrent, CSI is the best show in the world," Zuiker said in his interview for TVLine, saluting CSI franchise co-creators and CSI: NY showrunner.

Strong writing is also backed up by the great performance of Golden Globe winner and two-time Emmy nominee Regina Taylor.

Hopefully, the episode helps to show another side of the show and does justice to the serious cause.
