The writers have mistreated one character in Young Sheldon for far too long, and the fans have had enough!

In The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon has an all-time enemies list, and the name of his childhood neighbor, Billy Sparks, is said to be there for a couple of reasons, such as shoving a coin up Sheldon's nose and breaking his clavicle.

Sheldon may believe that Billy is one of his bullies, but Young Sheldon has yet to do anything to support this theory.

In the prequel, the character, played by Wyatt McClure, is nothing more than an innocent sweetheart trying to make it in a world that doesn't accept him.

Fans claim that Billy is the most underrated character in the show and deserves to have his name cleared by adult Sheldon.

Sure, in the pilot episode, the writers made us believe that Billy was a bully when he scared Sheldon with a chicken and called him "a dufus," but that's about it. Since then, he has been nothing but a kind-hearted guy to everyone around him.

Did the writers decide to change course all of a sudden, or was Sheldon exaggerating as usual? Hard to say, maybe both.

The creators did turn Billy's little sister into a mean bully instead (though she hasn't appeared on the show for a while), but we also know that Sheldon tends to blow things out of proportion, so there's that.

Anyway, fans voted Billy as the purest character on the show, recalling how sad it was to see him suffer because of his family situation. Remember when Sheldon went off on Billy and he just looked miserable? Our hearts couldn't take it!

We sincerely believe that Billy Sparks needs to get justice and perhaps even a happy ending sometime in the future.

It sucks to see him struggle so much, so it would be heartwarming to find out that Billy has grown into an accomplished adult. Here's hoping!

We wonder how many more of adult Sheldon's lies the prequel will uncover. Imagine if the creators actually gave us an explanation for all the inconsistencies in the end…

It would be hilarious if they simply blamed it all on Sheldon's compulsive lying or something.
