You only have a few days to learn whether the Earth is safe again after the nuclear armageddon.

Post-apocalypse typically shows people who have lived through a massive nuclear war by staying on Earth and praying. Sci-fi often has humankind leave our planet for the stars after a catastrophe and potentially return centuries later. But what if the nuclear armageddon destroyed everything, and only a small group of people up in the orbit survived it thanks to, well, being a bit further away from the blasts?

Surviving Nuclear Wars 101 by The 100

A massive nuclear war devastated the Earth, making it uninhabitable for people. The only survivors are those who happened to be on the 12 space stations when the bombs dropped. With nowhere to go, the stations were brought together in an attempt to create an artificial civilization on orbit, but their resources are limited.

97 years later, the space stations are almost out of food and fuel, and life is getting unbearable. In an attempt to learn whether humans can survive on the irradiated surface down below, they send 100 juvenile delinquents to the planet. Their task is simple: try to stay alive and learn as much as possible about the new reality. If they pull through, the entire population of the stations will recolonize the Earth…

Thanks to its unique twist on the common ideas of nuclear post-apocalypse and out-of-Earth sci-fi, The 100 quickly won over hearts and minds of millions of fans. Across the TV show’s seven seasons, it has maintained a spectacular 93% Average Critic Score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a solid 7.6/10 IMDb score to compliment it.

Currently, you can watch The 100 on Netflix, Apple TV, and Prime Video, but the black-and-red streaming platform is removing the series on June 8, 2024. You only have just over a week to watch the show and decide whether you like it without having to get another subscription, so hurry up: the Earth needs its settlers, and the spaceship isn’t leaving without you.
