As we're drawing closer to The Witcher Season 3 let's try and guess what's in store for us. Andrzej Sapkowski's iconic novel Time of Contempt has so many scenes and sequences – which of them will make it to Season 3?

So far we've learned that by the end of The Witcher Season 2, Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer were finally united, but the problem is that the Continent is after them. It is crucial for them to stay safe.

One of the most controversial storylines for Ciri could be that of her possible incestual union with The White Flame, whose identity was revealed in the end of Season 2. This is no other than Ciri's father Emhyr var Emreis. He believes in the prophecy, which says that Emhyr's son will become the ruler of the world. Emhyr wants to lay his hands on his daughter so she can bear his child – as the one with Elder Blood (and Ciri has Elder Blood) will rule the Continent. By the way, doesn't it sound familiar? Yes! House of the Dragon and Daemon/Rhaenyra line.

Another controversy is linked with a new character in Season 3, a tall and long-legged girl Mistle. She is member of the Rats gang who steals from the rich for their own pleasure and enjoys killing. And this is the very gang Ciri joins becoming their partner in crime. Moreover, Ciri is in a toxic and romantic relationships with Mistle. How will the fans take such a sudden change of heart? Good girl – bad girl.

Redditors have also posted their takes on Ciri's arc in the forthcoming season, suggesting that Netflix 's showrunners just can't follow anything from the book – "that's out the window." This is actually what most of the fans of any adaptations say all the time, and The Witcher is no exception. Thank you for the insight, but we'll move on. One redditor suspects "they will probably have a bath scene (because Netflix loves baths) where Ciri and Yen connect and all is forgiven."

"I suspect they will probably have a bath scene (because Netflix loves baths) where Ciri and Yen connect and all is forgiven. They will just pretend that Yennefer never tried to sell Ciri to a demon or that Ciri just murdered a bunch of Vesemir's "children" and that Geralt didn't use Ciri as monster bait," redditor ockeyes suggested.

Other fans hope that we'll see some scenes from BoE when Geralt and Ciri (and Yen) had to leave Kaer Morhen because Rience was there. Some are certain that in Season 3 main characters should be on the road most of the time – how great would it be to to see them with Yarpen and in Shaerawedd ruins, for example?

One thing is clear – we can discuss this for ages. The creative team behind the Netflix show has already changed a lot in the source material and who knows how far the writers' imagination will run this time.

Season 3 of The Witcher is in post-production and is expected to be released in summer 2023. The live-action prequel The Witcher: Blood Origin is set for a Christmas 2022 release.
