Christian Bale Was Afraid Of One Thing Before Shooting 'Thor 4', And It Is Weird
The Oscar-winning actor was completely clueless signing on to play Gorr in the upcoming MCU blockbuster, and it seems that googling his character made Bale really worried.
'Thor: Love and Thunder ' is just around the corner, and it looks like the upcoming adventures of Thor (Chris Hemsworth ) will not be easy. Thor will face his most formidable foe yet, Gorr, who has decided to kill all the gods in the MCU, including Zeus and the God of Thunder himself. The villain is played by the one and only Christian Bale, and the legendary actor will no doubt kick off his MCU career quite spectacularly, promising a thrilling and believable performance in the movie trailers. So, it was rather surprising to hear that Bale was a little nervous about preparing to embody Gorr, especially in light of the character's interesting costume choices in the original comics.
Speaking to Total Film, Bale described his surprise after googling his character for the first time and realizing that Gorr suspiciously likes to wear G-strings during battles.
"You sort of go, 'I know what he does.' It's right there in the name, isn't it? But I did make the mistake of Googling him and, oh no! [In the comics] he runs around in a G-string all the time. And I thought, 'They don't have the right man for that!' And then Taika quickly dispelled any notions of running around in that. But I always did think what he could do with this in front of a bluescreen – he could chuck on whatever he wants later on," Bale said.
It seems that Waititi was able to assure Bale that he wouldn't need G-strings to play the scary villain, but fans are certainly a little taken aback, joking about Bale's refusal to wear such revealing lingerie.
"Bale doesn’t do g-strings. It’s either fully nude, chainsaw, covered in blood or nothing," – /thedoge.
'Thor: Love and Thunder' will arrive on July 8, 2022.
