Amid all the buzz around the 'new era' of DC, fans are intrigued about who will take over Superman and Batman.

Some speculations mention the possibility of the previous actors coming back, and now we know what one of them thinks about this.

Christian Bale is one of those actors who you would typically address as "the man, the myth, the legend."

His dedication to the craft is unmatched, and the transformations — both physical and mental — he goes through to become his characters are something to behold (and make a ton of memes about).

Despite having played in dozens of outstanding movies, Christian Bale is mostly known for his Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan 's Dark Knight trilogy.

Admittedly, Bale's Batman has still kept his gold medal as the best Batman of the 21st century, and millions of fans wish for him to return to this iconic role.

This only became a more prominent topic as the new age of DC Universe is coming with its full relaunch. Batman and Superman are under the spotlight now as the public wants to know who will inherit the two main DC characters next.

Speculators frequently talk about the possibility of Christian Bale making a triumphant comeback — and the actor himself addressed it.

According to Bale, just a year ago he was not approached about such an opportunity, and the rumors were mostly fake at that point.

But he also revealed a "secret pact" he had with Christopher Nolan regarding the actor's potential return as Batman later down the line.

In this pact, they agreed to only make three movies and stop there… That's not the end of the story, though.

As Christian said, there's still one condition on which he would totally play Batman again. His condition is working with Nolan and only if the director wants to do it.

"If Chris Nolan ever said to himself, 'You know what, I've got another story to tell.' And if he wished to tell that story with me, I'd be in," shared Christian Bale.

This means that if James Gunn wanted to bring back the most praised and acclaimed Batman of the century, he would need to convince Christopher Nolan first.

This could be massive for the DC Universe reboot considering that Nolan's original trilogy grossed over $2.4 billion — and let's face it, both Bruce Wayne's suits really suit Christian Bale as none other.

In a world where Batman and Joker have to team up to save Gotham, do you think Bale would rather work with Ledger's Joker or Phoenix's Joker?
