Chicago Fire Fans Finally Get Some Good Casting News For S12
No more abrupt exits for this season.
Summary:
- Chicago Fire is an NBC procedural television drama that is part of Dick Wolf's One Chicago Universe.
- In the upcoming 12th season, fans will have to say goodbye to two characters, Sylvie Brett and Blake Gallo, due to the departure of their respective actors.
- However, the show is recruiting new cast members to fill the vacancies. The latest casting update announces that Rome Flynn is joining the show.
To say that the last few months have been tough on Chicago Fire fandom would be an understatement, as the show is definitely going through some major changes. Although these changes only affect the cast for now, it's clear that the storyline will have to change as well to fit the new ensemble.
The only good news that viewers have received in a long time was the news of Taylor Kinney's comeback to the role of Kelly Severide. Though it was possible to build a solid season without him last year, this time around the task would be too difficult without Alberto Rosende's Blake Gallo and Kara Killmer's Sylvie Brett.
Fortunately, the team behind the Chicago Fire understands this as well as the fans. That's why they're already on the hunt for new talent to introduce in the new season.
Chicago Fire’s New Character in Season 12
Since it was previously revealed that the audience will have to say goodbye to Rosende's Blake Gallo in the very first episode of an upcoming Chicago Fire season 12, it was obvious that Truck 51 would have to recruit someone else to replace him. From the looks of it, they will find their new hero almost immediately, in episode 2.
According to Deadline, Rome Flynn, best known for his portrayal of How to Get Away with Murder's Gabriel Maddox, will join the cast of Chicago Fire as former boxer Jake Gibson.
The character will be quite mysterious, quiet and dark, so viewers will probably want to find out more about him, just like characters in the universe. He's also written to attract the attention of firefighters by some sort of heroic act, so it's obvious that viewers are in for a treat in the form of an exciting performance.
There's not much else to know about Flynn's character at this point, but Chicago Fire fans are already intrigued by his character and eager to see him in action. Would his appearance help the team deal with the loss of Blake Gallo? That's debatable. But Jake Gibson will certainly bring a fresh dynamic to the mix.
If you are interested in seeing where all the characters will go in season 12 of Chicago Fire, be sure to tune in to NBC on Wednesday, January 17th to catch the season premiere.
