How do we feel about our smartphones today? Basically, what was once a devious plan is now the reality we live in. Many people who re-watch Charlie's Angels today don't know whether to laugh or get scared when they realize that the entire plot of the 2000 movie revolves around a villain who is able to track people through their cell phones.
Still, despite the fact that some aspects of the movie definitely haven't aged well, it's a "silly fun ride," according to fans. The 2000 film was the first in the Charlie's Angels film series, starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu as the three women who work for a private detective agency.
A sequel, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle was released in 2003, with the three actresses reprising their roles. There was then a hiatus of several years before a new generation of Angels arrived.
The 2019 film starred Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska. It received mixed reviews and was even considered by some to be the biggest box office disappointment of the year, grossing only $73.3 million worldwide against an estimated budget of $48-55 million.
