How often do we think about ordinary stuff that is around us? About main functions and actual meaning of things? Well, we guess, it doesn't happen too frequently.

But wizards are way more curious about the world. Especially the one where muggles live. So they try to grab any opportunity to learn more about them.

Like Arthur Weasley in Chamber of Secrets, when he asked Harry Potter about… the main function of a rubber duck. Well, we can only hope that Harry didn't lose his face while answering that tricky question.

The mystery of a beloved bath toy is not the only thing that made Ron's father (aka muggle-fan) inquisitive. Remember the trip to the Ministry of Magic, when Harry took Arthur down to the subway in the Order of the Phoenix?

Mr. Weasley really struggled trying to understand how to pass through turnstiles. According to many Harry Potter fans, it just illustrates perfectly how ignorant wizards are – even those who seem to adore the muggle culture.

Although some fans seem to have another opinion on the question that seems not that hard to believe in.

"There's an interesting fan theory I saw once that implied that Mr Weasley was intentionally acting ignorant, because obviously his job requires him to know more about muggles than the average wizard (at the government level), but he made silly comments and asked questions like the rubber duck to Harry because he knew about the trauma," Reddit user mkkonrad said.

Still, one more episode to prove that our theory is right is the one from Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, when Hermione, Harry, and several other students are at Slughorn's dinner party.

Professor asked Miss Granger about her parents. But the answer "They are dentists" didn't tell him much.

"This implies that Hogwarts teachers don't have a clue about dentists or doctors which play a cruel role in human society. I've always wondered what happens when they get a toothache or need a tooth extracted.

They must use magic for self care and treatment but you would assume they would know dentists and I don't know if this is a hole in the story or simply just a matter of the magic world being so detached from muggles that they don't want to know about their profession outside Hogwarts," Youtube user irishtechnicalthinker8696 said.

Well, the only thing left to say is maybe Muggle Studies in Hogwarts should have lasted for more than a year. In that case, the function of a rubber duck would be much more obvious to wizards.
