‘CBS Will Come to Their Senses’: Tom Selleck Keeps Waging War for Blue Bloods
The longer CBS is trying to hush down the Blue Bloods cancellation drama, the more its lead star Tom Selleck is getting direct: this time, he called the network out directly.
Summary:
- In December 2023, CBS announced that Blue Bloods would end with Season 14.
- Since then, fans and stars have been trying to save the TV show from its premature finale.
- Recently, Tom Selleck directly inquired that CBS “come to their senses,” claiming that Blue Bloods is too well-performing of a show to drop it.
Ever since CBS announced Blue Bloods finale in Season 14 back in December 2023, both fans and actors have been growing increasingly frustrated. Fan petitions and demands, cast’s media campaigns and numerous statements, and much more — everything is being used in an attempt to achieve the ultimate goal: saving Blue Bloods from its arguably premature cancellation.
Tom Selleck Slams CBS for Canceling Blue Bloods
Throughout his long and fruitful career, Tom Selleck has made himself quite a name as one of the biggest TV stars of all time. Blue Bloods has been his main project for over the past dozen years, and the star actor is not ready to hang up Frank Reagan’s tight tie so quickly. Selleck is very vocal about his desire to keep Blue Bloods going, and the longer he’s being ignored, the more frustrated he gets.
“I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. [Blue Bloods is] the third highest show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night, [and] all the cast wants to come back. I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off a cliff — we’re doing good shows and still holding our place,” Tom Selleck told CBS Sunday Morning recently.
A frontal assault on CBS on their own morning show, ey? It definitely looks like Selleck is getting fed up with the network’s attitude — and he’s not the only one.
Blue Bloods Cast Is Trying to Save the Show
Just like in the series, Tom Selleck is the leader of the anti-cancellation movement on the set of Blue Bloods. His statements are the bluntest and most direct, and he can afford it thanks to his stellar track record and reputation; but other Blue Bloods stars are also doing their best to prevent the show’s premature demise in their own ways.
Donnie Wahlberg, the Danny Reagan star, has been the second most vocal cast member lately, and he has a different approach. Wahlberg is appealing to the fans, sharing how important Blue Bloods has become to the series’ cast and crew and how familial the relationships on the set have grown over the years.
Abigail Hawk and other stars all add their bits to the general sentiment, but so far, CBS has not responded to the numerous asks, demands, and pleas. We’ll see whether Tom Selleck’s latest accusation changes that; let’s hope it does.
