A character's comeback doesn't always mean that something good is going to happen to his storyline. But hopefully that's not the case for Casey.

It's no news to Chicago Fire fans that characters come and go from the show all the time. And sometimes it feels like there is no real timeline for their departures, like one day an actor just wakes up and decides he needs a break from it all.

And then it's up to the writers to come up with a story to support the departure of a character.

So it's fair to say that from episode to episode, fans are just waiting to see what's going to happen next and who's going to leave the show this time.

But sometimes, they receive great news, like the fan-beloved character's comeback. In one of the recent episodes of the latest season Matt Casey, portrayed by actor Jesse Spencer, returned to the Windy City, but only for just this one episode.

The character mentioned that he was coming back for a short period of time just for one task. But frankly, Spencer thinks that his character will be back very soon.

And the reason will be his ex-girlfriend, Sylvie Brett.

Well, Casey's departure from the show was actually quite painful for the cast, but the one who took it the hardest was Sylvie.

Frankly, it was heartbreaking to see her like that because it was obvious that they were still in love. Long distance didn't work out as well as they expected, even though they really tried.

So during one phone call they've just painfully ended things.

Brett and Casey remained a fan favorite couple even after their emotional breakup, as there was unfinished business between them and it was unclear exactly what would happen next.

And now that Spencer has shared his thoughts about coming back for Brett, that idea doesn't sound impossible.
