Can't Wait for Black Mirror Season 7? Check Out This 100%-Rated K-Drama on Hulu Instead
There can never be enough science fiction.
One of the most popular sci-fi shows is undoubtedly Black Mirror. And with the news that another season of this groundbreaking show will be released next year, the anxious wait begins. But what if we told you that there's something that can take your mind off it?
There’s no denying that K-dramas have taken over a big part of the worldwide television industry. And there’s no wonder: all the series the South Koreans produce have original plots and the actors are really damn good in what they do.
While half of all released K-dramas are romantic comedies, the second half is equally divided through horrors, thrillers, crime dramas and science fiction dramas. However, South Korean shows are popular for mixing a lot of different genres in one show and creating the whole new thing that just blows your mind in the end.
There Is a K-Drama Even Better Than Black Mirror
One of such shows is called Connect. Released in 2022, it’s a K-drama made by famous Japanese director Takashi Miike. And that’s the first reason why you definitely need to check out the series. The second one is, of course, the storyline.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, Connect tells the mysterious story of a man who lost his... eye. At the center of the story is a man named Ha Dong Soo, a new type of immortal human known as Connect. One day he gets kidnapped by a gang of organ harvesters who are determined to take what belongs to him.
After losing his eye, he starts to see mysterious things and he realizes that his eye has been transplanted into a serial killer. So in a very disturbing way, they become connected. Dong Soo decides to catch the criminal after realizing he can see whatever the killer sees.
The fans of the series say that despite not having a lot of surreal stuff going on, like it usually happens to Miike’s creations, the series is definitely one of the most disturbing horror sci-fi dramas out there.
Connect is available to stream on Hulu.
