Surprise, surprise!

Virgin River is one of the best Netflix hits right now, and the recent drop of the first part of season 5 just helped that. The thing is, the show introduces so many plot twists that we could barely keep up with it.

Needless to say, a lot of stuff was revealed, and lots of nerves were wracked. But there was one character who actually suffered the most from the writers’ twisted script. Of source it’s deeply pregnant Charmaine, whose world is now turned upside down because of… somebody.

When she was leaving the Labor Day festival at the end of episode 10, a man approached her. In a few moments the fans realized it was Calvin, who actually was supposed to be dead, as season 4 ended up with him being on a boat that exploded.

Well, Charmaine, along with all the fans, just couldn't believe her eyes.

“My actual jaw dropped at the Calvin reveal. I did not see that coming and this show very rarely has dramatic surprise reveals that you don’t see coming a mile away. And I think we all called that Charmaine lying about Jack being the dad like 3 seasons earlier,” Redditor PupnamedHarlow said.

Oh yeah, the pregnancy thing. "Who's the baby daddy?" is probably the most intriguing question of all in Virgin River. At the end of season 4, Charmaine revealed that Jack wasn't actually the father of her unborn twins. But she didn't say who was.

So in season 5, Jack decided to confront her, and she ended up freaking out and saying that her pregnancy was the result of a one-night stand. And guess what: it turns out that Calvin is the father! And now that he is back from the dead, he wants to play his role to the fullest.

Charmaine is definitely not thrilled with the perspective, but he is the bad guy, so she’d better listen and not make any sudden moves. After all, we don’t know what the rest of his motives are.

Maybe Virgin River season 5, part 2, which will be released on Netflix on November 30th, will clear that up.
