Fans are not ready to accept what she's done.

Even with the upcoming premiere of Bridgerton 's spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, fans are still waiting for news about the release of season 3.

That's not surprising, considering that season 3 will focus on the love story between Penelope and Colin, two characters whose duo has been the most loved by fans since the beginning.

However, not everyone is ready to just forget and forgive what Penelope has done and see her thrive in a new relationship.

Fans feel that in order to truly complete her character development and arc, she needs to apologize to Marina and make peace with her while she still can.

If you've read the books, you may know that Marina's story is coming to an end this season, and there's very little chance the showrunners will go a different route.

Even though her character is much more developed in the show than in the books, it's unlikely that the writers will keep her alive and in the background.

One way or another, Marina is going to be written out of the show, and fans believe she needs to be given justice before that happens.

It's not a settled issue within the fandom, as both Marina and Penelope have a strong contingent of apologists and stans who are willing to take their position.

The situation they both found themselves in is far from pretty: Marina was very wrong in plotting her plan behind everyone's back, and Penelope's problem is the opposite, as she went too public and outed Marina in front of everyone.

Whichever side of a conflict you choose, it's clear that both ladies were hurt a lot in the process, and both deserve an apology.

Many fans seem to agree that including such a scene would be smart, not only because of how heartwarming it would be but also because Penelope needs her redemption arc if the writers want the audience to sympathize with her.

It would be really interesting to see some character growth, and admitting her mistakes is a great place to start.

Whether you think Penelope should apologize to Marina for what she did to her or not, we'll have to wait and see where the story goes.

There is no official release date for Bridgerton season 3 yet, so keep an eye out for upcoming announcements.
