Bridgerton Fans Cry Foul as Pen and Colin Get the Big Wedding, But Daphne and Anthony Didn't
Why is it that the third Bridgerton sibling is the one who gets the big celebration of love?
The filming of Bridgerton Season 3 is in full swing, and fans aren't letting anything important slip through their fingers. Naturally, the recently leaked behind-the-scenes footage and photos of a wedding at a chapel in Greenwich, London sent the fandom into a frenzy. There was not much to see, as the images mostly showed extras in period costumes moving between sets. But fans were given plenty to speculate about.
In many discussions of the behind-the-scenes pictures, the majority of fans agree that the wedding must be that of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, the season's central couple. And judging by the location and the number of extras, it looks like a big event, even a huge one.
While Pen and Colin fans are happy about all the attention being paid to their beloved couple, fans of the Season 1 and 2 couples think it's unfair that Daphne and Anthony Bridgerton weren't given the big weddings that Colin is likely to get.
Of course, it was the storylines of the first two seasons that kept the main couples from having big celebrations. Simon and Daphne had to get a special license to get married quickly after Anthony caught them kissing in the garden. Therefore, the couple had no time to plan a big and fancy wedding.
Anthony and Kate may have had a big wedding, but viewers did not get to see it, which resulted in backlash from Kanthony fans. However, it is safe to assume that after the Edwina wedding debacle, the couple probably had a small ceremony just for the family.
Still, the fact that the third Bridgerton sibling finally got a big ceremony may not be the best sign for the couple. Judging by the first two seasons, fans think Shondaland would not pay for a big wedding scene if it was just a happy celebration of love.
The wedding has to be derailed by something or have some kind of scandal attached to it. Most likely it will be something related to Pen's secret identity as Lady Whistledown. That means things have to get messy, and Saphne and Kanthony fans have nothing to be jealous of.
