We’ll be lucky to get four of them at this point.

For many TV fans, the Bridgerton series was an island of stability in a never-ending storm of stress that was rocking the industry.

Though the production teams of any show would be hit hard by the hardships of COVID-19 and then the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Bridgerton felt like it would never really suffer.

As an overseas production, the U.K. portion of Bridgerton's cast could have continued production and avoided the consequences for SAG-AFTRA members, as happened with HBO's House of The Dragon.

However, the simultaneous writers' strike adds another layer of complexity and prohibits the show from moving forward.

It was much easier to believe in Shonda Rhimes' ability to influence Netflix and create Bridgrerton the way she sees it: eight seasons, each dedicated to a different love story.

Now that the show is stagnating, there is no certain news about the release date of season 3 and no possibility of the cast joining in to promote it, the fandom is facing the sad reality.

With all the delays affecting not only the viewership but also the cast's interest in a project, the Bridgerton universe is in danger of falling apart.

Not to mention the possibility of a Stranger Things 2.0 scenario, where the cast ages right in front of the audience, some actors might think twice about joining season 5 after such delays. If season 5 is even a thing now, that is.

While some Bridgerton fans are sure that they will see at least two more seasons of the story, covering both Benedict and Eloise's romances, others are more pragmatic and believe that it's best not to get your hopes up too high.

Any news about the expansion of the Bridgerton universe is good, but so far the fandom hasn't gotten any since Queen Charlotte's premiere in May.

Whether the rumors about the release of season 3 this December are true or not, the information should be confirmed by official Netflix representatives, so make sure you don't miss it.
