Hollywood's A-lister was happy as a kid on Christmas Eve when he bought a 'haunted' house, but in the end, this idea didn't quite work out for him.

Apparently, Brad Pitt loves himself a good ghost or two.

After learning that Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira was living in a "haunted" house, the actor was excited to buy the house for himself.

Despite Elvira openly sharing the bone-chilling supernatural activities that she's witnessed within the walls of her LA real estate, Pitt only saw that as a massive bonus to the living experience.

"I've seen people walking around upstairs, for example, real people just walking. One time [a ghost was] sitting downstairs in front of the fireplace, once walking into my bedroom and back out… We saw a person floating around at the bottom of the pool, things like that," shared Cassandra in one of her interviews that caught Pitt's eye.

While most people wouldn't have enjoyed the idea of living in a creepy property like that one even if they didn't really believe in ghosts and other paranormal stuff, Brad Pitt was delighted when he learned Peterson's story.

The actor reached out to Elvira and suggested he'd buy the haunted house off of her, and the stories were only boosting his desire to live there.

"So we were telling Brad all about that and he loved it. I mean, there are not many buyers who that would be a selling point for, but he was like, 'Oh, that's so awesome.' I love that he appreciated the house so much," Cassandra said.

This story happened almost thirty years ago, and during this time, Brad Pitt's been reportedly quite happy with this 'haunted' house of his.

We can't be sure whether the actor has encountered any paranormal activity himself but there don't seem to be records of exorcist emergency calls coming from his place throughout this period.

Still, Pitt decided against explaining the reasons behind selling the LA house this April or otherwise commenting on the deal.

Maybe, the actor had finally encountered a ghost he was expecting and decided that he was done with the house; or perhaps, he just got tired of waiting after thirty years and just sold the property.

Anyways, the house reportedly sold for $33M against the initial buying price of $1.7M in 1994. Haunted or not, this is a solid return on a decades-old piece of real estate.
