Blue Bloods Season 14 Remaining Episodes Schedule (Don't Miss The Series Finale!)
When will the Reagans return to the small screen?
Summary
- While CBS hasn't made any announcements yet, a schedule for the remaining episodes of Blue Bloods Season 14A has already emerged.
- In addition, there have been hints that Blue Bloods could reach 300 episodes in total.
- The creators of the series have ideas that could go beyond Season 14.
The fourteenth season of Blue Bloods is an incredibly big deal for fans of the cult police procedural drama, and for broadcast television in general. After all, this is the final season (well, at least until CBS decides to renew the show for at least one more season), and considering the smaller number of episodes than in previous seasons, there isn't much time left before we have to say goodbye to the Reagan family for good.
But here we are, four episodes in, and Blue Bloods is back to the point where it's not on our screens weekly. So, here's a look at the schedule for the first half of Season 14, what to expect from the second half, and whether we should expect anything beyond the Blue Bloods finale from CBS.
Season 14A Release Schedule
Season 14 promises to be much shorter than usual, with only 18 episodes planned instead of the usual 20-22. The season will be split into two halves, with the first coming out this spring and the second scheduled for the fall of 2024.
As for the upcoming 14A, CBS hasn't given any details yet. However, the listing has already appeared on The Futon Critic. The release schedule for the remaining episodes can be found below:
- Episode 5, Bad Faith — April 5, 2024
- Episode 6 — April 12, 2024
- Episode 7 — April 26, 2024
- Episode 8 — May 3, 2024
- Episode 9 — May 10, 2024
- Episode 10 — May 17, 2024
There May Be More Episodes than Expected
It is still unknown when exactly we should expect Season 14B to be released (although it is quite possible that they will be released in September-October like the previous seasons). However, there is one notable thing — there could be a lot more episodes than 10.
In February 2024, at the same time as the Season 14 premiere, Garrett Moore portrayer Gregory Jbara shared a very optimistic rumor that the possibility of expanding the season was now 'being considered.' If it turns out to be 18, Blue Bloods will have a total of 293 episodes. However, 'if our numbers are really good', then 14B may well run on TV until the spring of 2025.
'Because right now we're doing 18 episodes. And we're under 300 [episodes] total, and Tom's got something going on,' Jbara concluded, mentioning that Tom Selleck, who plays the role of Commissioner Frank Reagan, is still very enthusiastic about the show and has a lot of ideas on how to develop the story of his character.
The Legacy of Blue Bloods
But regardless of whether there will be a total of 293 episodes or 300 or more, what awaits us after that and should we expect anything beyond Season 14? Although we should not expect a sequel before then, the cast is well aware that the audience is not ready to say goodbye to the Reagan family.
'CBS will find an awful lot of people aren't ready to say goodbye to it. The show's more popular than ever, and I think [numbers] will increase with the interest this year. We're certainly not out of ideas,' Selleck told TV Insider.
Each new episode premieres on CBS at 10 p.m. ET and is available the following day on Paramount+.
