Blue Bloods Season 14 is Nearly Done; Here's How Many Episodes Are Left
Man, we are really going to miss the Reagan family next year!

September 2024 will mark 14 full years since Blue Bloods premiered on CBS, so long that it's hard to imagine television without the show. However, much to the shock of fans and cast alike, CBS has not renewed the show for at least one more season.
It was known that the end of the Reagan story was imminent when the cast and crew agreed to take pay cuts for the sake of a Season 14 renewal but given the network's recent decision to reverse its cancellation of S.W.A.T., the determination to end Blue Bloods as soon as possible is causing no small amount of regret and resentment.
But alas, all things must come to an end, and despite our pleas (and the fan petition on Change.org that has already garnered more than 19,500 signatures), the police family drama is coming to an end, and so we must morally prepare ourselves for it. Fortunately, we still have time, because there are ten episodes ahead of us, two of which will be released in the coming weeks, and the remaining eight in the fall of 2024.
So, without further ado, let's check out the schedule for the remaining episodes of Blue Bloods Season 14, Parts 1 and 2.
Why Blue Bloods Was Axed
But before we find out the release schedule for the remaining episodes, let's take a look at the reasons why CBS did not renew Blue Bloods despite its consistently high ratings. The decision seems really strange and even illogical, since the enthusiasm of the viewers and the crew is as high as ever.
However, neither viewership nor critical acclaim were the deciding factors in CBS's final vote. As usual, it came down to the question of profitability. Considering the production costs (the series is filmed in New York) and the actors' salaries, despite the 25% pay cut, it was simply not cost-effective for the network to continue the series and as soon as the story began to reach its logical conclusion, CBS canceled it.
Blue Bloods Season 14A Episode Schedule
Before we get to the final chapter of the Reagan family story this fall, we have two episodes to look forward to, one of which airs tomorrow! There are a total of ten episodes in the first half of Season 14, and you can check out the schedule for the remaining two episodes below:

It looks like the upcoming tenth episode is going to be really intense as none other than Danny's son Sean is going to be the victim of a new crime.
What We Know about Blue Bloods Season 14B
Unfortunately, we can't provide a similarly tight schedule for the forthcoming fall episodes, as CBS hasn't shared any details yet, with a few exceptions. All we know is that Season 14B will start in October 2024, like the traditional Blue Bloods season premieres, and will consist of 8 episodes. It will end in December of the same year.
It remains to be seen where the story will end, whether it will be with Frank (and maybe even Danny!) retiring, whether we will be faced with an unbelievable plot twist, or whether CBS execs will relent and extend Season 14 to 300 episodes, as the petition demands. Hopefully, the fan campaign to save the show will bear fruit and the Reagans will gather around the family table one more time after Blue Bloods ends.
