Blue Bloods' Last Family Dinner of S13 Will Be Massive
The bad news is that Blue Bloods season 13 is coming to a close. The good news is that the final family dinner is going to be great!
The fate of Blue Bloods was hanging for quite some time, and neither the showrunner nor the fans were sure if the series would get renewed.
Ultimately, everything turned out OK as Blue Bloods got greenlighted for season 14 after massive pay cuts for both the crew and the cast, but the post-effect is there.
Admittedly, when the writers were not sure whether the next season was coming, they were trying to make the S13 ending as great as possible by bringing back fan-favorite characters for the finale.
We already know some of them, and as time passes, we keep learning that even more familiar faces will show up.
For example, judging by the title of the season's last episode, Forgive Us Our Trespasses, we deduced that Archbishop Kearns will make an appearance to chat with his old friend Frank Reagan.
Also, it was recently revealed that Detective Jackie Curatola is coming back for the S13 finale, too — just when everyone's lost hope for her comeback.
But Forgive Us Our Trespasses will not just feature the friends of the Reagans — we can expect good old family members to rejoin the table, too!
Nicky Reagan-Boyle, Erin's only daughter, is coming back as well. She's been missing since S11, and we're curious to learn what she tells the rest of the family about her dragged-out business on the West Coast.
Jack Reagan, Danny's oldest son, will also come to the family gathering. We haven't seen him since last season, so it'll be nice to catch up with another younger Reagan on what he's been up to all this time.
Despite the seemingly-intended reunion of the elder and the younger members of the family, the recently posted photo from the set lacks another notable young man of Reagan descent: Joe Hill, apparently, won't be present at the table.
Still, most of the Reagans are coming together for the season 13 finale and some of the most prominent characters like Jackie and the Archbishop will make an appearance.
We're curious to see if there are any more surprises Blue Bloods have for us — who knows, maybe, they'll get someone else to guest star in the final episode…
The final episode of Blue Bloods airs on May 19.
