Blink And You'll Miss It SPN Cameo In The Winchesters That Could Change Everything
Unless it's just another cruel way to play with the hearts of the fans.
Warning: The following article contains spoilers for The Winchesters episode 8
The Winchesters returned from hiatus with a bang: not only is Dean Winchester now technically alive, but we also have a cameo that ties the prequel to the original series in the eeriest way possible.
If you were watching the episode and just enjoying Louden Swain's music in peace, at some point you probably realized that there is no peace in this universe. Because yes, that was Rob Benedict, aka Chuck, aka God, casually playing the piano in the background.
Now there are two ways to look at this cameo. Either it was just a fun little nod to Rob Benedict and his band, Louden Swain, that means nothing story-wise; or it was a huge hint that Chuck is there to (maybe) confront Dean and stop him from doing whatever he's up to. After all, Chuck lost the battle to the Winchester brothers in the original series, and he might be looking for a rematch.
"I'm not saying it's literally Chuck himself I'm saying it's like they want us to be thinking about him in a way?? It's (theoretically) a fourth wall break," Twitter user CharCubed said.
Those not in the mood to theorize simply noted that it must have been pretty chaotic for the crew to handle Jensen Ackles, Rob Benedict, and Richard Speight Jr. all on set at the same time.
How chaotic will it be for the rest of the Winchesters? We will have to wait and see. The new episode will air on February 7 on The CW.
