The world's largest film conference, CinemaCon 2022, is in full swing, with many major studios unveiling trailers and teasers for their upcoming and hotly anticipated films.

Warner Bros. is also at the event, showing new footage from 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom'.

The upcoming DCEU movie starring Jason Momoa as the titular superhero will pick up where the previous installment left off: Aquaman will continue his journey to defeat the villainous Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Matin II). Many DC fans were unhappy with the portrayal of the legendary supervillain in the first 'Aquaman', claiming that his character was underdeveloped and underwritten. DC seems to have listened to them, trying to fix their previous mistakes.

According to Screen Rant, new footage released at CinemaCon already promises a great future for the underwater villain, with more cohesive origin story teased by film's creators. The footage shows Black Manta on board of a brand-new ship, trying to bring down Aquaman for good.

What's more, it looks like Momoa will finally try on the iconic orange suit, with Aquaman donning it in every scene in CinemaCon's special footage.

Fans are no doubt excited about the upcoming film, but the recent controversy involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp could lead to a full-blown boycott by fandom demanding that Heard's character, Mera, be recast.

'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' premiers on March 17, 2023.
