Billie Eilish's Brother Finneas Was on Glee, But Did You Notice Him?
There's no more suitable show for singer and songwriter than Glee.
Billie Eilish has become one of the most recognizable pop stars and her songs are listened to by millions of people around the world.
But her success would not have been so colossal had it not been for her brother, Finneas O'Connell, who helps the singer to this day.
While songwriters usually get less attention from fans than performers, it's hard to say that Finneas is overshadowed by his sister, who has become a pop culture phenomenon at a young age.
Almost all fans know that he is behind the songwriting for Billie and that he is also pursuing his solo career.
However, if everyone knows about the musical side of Billie Eilish's brother, not many people know about his acting background.
It turns out that Finneas is not only a songwriter and performer, but also an actor. He can be seen in small roles in movies like Bad Teacher, and in the series Aquarius and Modern Family.
Although Finneas' most notable role is in the most suitable show for a songwriter – Glee. In the sixth and final season of the iconic series, Finneas played Alistair, Spencer's love interest.
The actor admitted that he auditioned several times, and it was only the fifth time that he was lucky enough to be cast in the show.
"I've always been a musician and actor and I think when you're a musician and an actor the casting directors from Glee sort of had their eye on you," Finneas recalled in his interview with GlambergirlBlog.
It is no surprise that Finneas has become such a versatile artist – his parents are both actors. Mother Maggie Baird appeared in several episodes of The X-Files and other TV series.
She has also acted in movies and voiced computer games. In 2013, her movie Life Inside Out was released, where Maggie played the lead role along with Finneas.
His father Patrick O'Connell has appeared in Iron Man and the television series The West Wing.
When their first child was born in 1997, the father was crazy about the boy band Hanson, which was at the top of the charts.
Patrick assumed that the group was successful because it's members didn't go to school and spent a lot of time on music. As a result, Billy and Finneas also studied at home.
Apparently, all these factors combined to make Maggie and Patrick's children one of the most prominent figures in modern pop culture.
