Luckily, there is Dead City now to tie all loose ends together.

The more characters a TV show has, the easier it is for the audience to find a reason to connect with it, right? This is usually considered a good thing. However, there are not many shows that manage to give all the characters the same attention and quality of writing.

More often than not, some characters end up with outright ridiculous storylines that come out of nowhere and make fans angry rather than happy and grateful for the content. A little less common is when the actors themselves are confused about their character's endings.

This was the case with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his character Negan when it came to the end of The Walking Dead.

While the finale wasn't nearly as disappointing as it could have been (yes, Game of Thrones, we're still looking at you), there were some pretty questionable choices. Negan's sudden marriage seemed to be one of them, at least for the actor.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan got a chance to explain his reasoning on an episode of Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast:

“You know, I don't know that he would've gotten married again, and they had Negan get married at the end of The Walking Dead. We never saw the story of how he met this person and why he would've married her, which always kind of bummed me out, because I think he was so in love with his wife, Lucille, and it had made such a production out of the whole Lucille of it all.”

The good news is that the topic has not been left behind and forgotten. In fact, the new spinoff of the original series, The Walking Dead: Dead City, may give viewers and actors alike some answers about the origins of Negan's new marriage.

If you are already hooked on the story and want to find out more, be sure to tune in to AMC every Thursday to not miss another episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City.
