While binge-watching Friends, one of the crime fans discovered that Paget Brewster played Kathy in season 4. Her Reddit post revealing this came as a shock to many Criminal Minds fans.
Kathy was a recurring character who appeared in six episodes and had a memorable storyline. Initially, Kathy was Joey's girlfriend. However, viewers were introduced to her as a girl that Chandler saw in Central Perk and immediately fell in love with. Although he had to hide his feelings, he developed a deep connection with Kathy and eventually won her over without meaning to.
This created a lot of tension between Joey and Chandler and put a strain on their friendship. The time Chandler sat in a wooden box and thought about the ways he had wronged Joey in order to save their friendship was one of the most hilarious and heartwarming moments in the sitcom.
Unfortunately, Kathy and Chandler's relationship was short-lived. Despite their crazy chemistry, Chandler felt insecure dating the young actress. He accused her of cheating on him, which eventually led to their breakup.
Though Paget Brewster's tenure on Friends was short-lived and, in fact, her first real acting job, she played a memorable character who delivered many hilarious moments, which comes as no surprise to Criminal Minds fans who know what a brilliant actress Brewster is. Her chemistry with Matthew Perry was palpable, and she totally pulled off a short haircut, just like she does with her naturally gray hair in Evolution.
