Big Bridgerton Star Reveals He Was a Spy On Harry Potter Set
You know what they say: yesterday you're a Harry Potter extra, today you're a household name.
Years after the last Harry Potter movie was released, fans still notice that many of the actors who are now household names played minor roles in the movies.
Rege Jean Page was one of them, and shared his story of filming in the iconic franchise. Rege rose to stardom due to the role of the Duke of Hastings Simon Basset in Bridgerton.
The role earned Page an MTV Breakthrough Performance of the Year Award and nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmys and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
As soon as he heard about the casting for Bridgerton, the actor literally rushed to audition for the role because he adores producer Shonda Rhimes, who worked on Grey's Anatomy before Bridgerton.
After the premiere of the melodrama, fans realized that English actor took part in the filming of the seventh movie based on J.K. Rowling's novels, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Page's character can be seen standing next to Hermione at the wedding of Fleur Delacour and Bill Weasley.
In an interview with IMDB, the actor talked about his experience on the set of Harry Potter.
"I remember essentially being undercover on sets 'cause I was doing background work at the time, I was just kind of picking up, just watching and learning and observing. It's a great way to spy," Page said.
The actor admitted that it was the first time he was on filming of such a high-budget movie. But not only did he get to see how big movies like Harry Potter are made, he also learned some tricks from other actors.
Page recalled how Emma Watson hid her phone under a napkin while filming the wedding scene.
The actor's departure from the Bridgerton after the first season was extremely upsetting for fans, but the success of the show has provided the actor with many new interesting roles in major projects.
He has already starred in Netflix 's action movie The Gray Man with Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.
Moreover, Page got one of the main roles in the movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, where he worked together with such actors as Chris Pine and Hugh Grant.
The movie has already been released and was well-received by critics and viewers.
