Big Bang Theory On-Screen Friendship That Turned Out To Be Quite Real
One of the main storylines of The Big Bang Theory is the character's friendship. Though it was strange at times...
Somehow, the annoyingly egocentric genius physicist Sheldon Cooper has managed to surround himself with brilliant (and still a little quirky) friends. Among them are his best friend Leonard, astrophysicist Raj and MIT engineer Howard.
For some off-screen time, the four friends had only each other. But the first episode introduces us to their new neighbor Penny.
And well, we all know what happened next. Not without resistance from Sheldon, she became a member of their social group, and a love interest for Leonard, of course.
In the early episodes, it's almost physically painful to witness the birth of such a strange friendship. It certainly didn't seem like Penny and Sheldon could even become fully functioning neighbors, let alone friends.
But defying logic, Penny's open heart and social skills eventually crack Sheldon's tough exterior. Since then, they have grown fond of each other and become close friends.
"Sheldon is Penny's other little brother who doesn't sell drugs lol. They also make amazing friends, but they have more of a sibling chemistry between them, how they annoy each other with how they are and intentionally too, but stand up for each other. Theirs I find is the most natural relationship in the show. They also make a terrific comedic pair," Reddit user m_kavleen said.
Well, apparently the same is true for Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons' off-screen relationship. And this stunning moment during the 2011 Golden Globes proves it.
Cuoco was presenting the award for Best TV Actor, and when she opened the envelope, she paused for a moment and muttered, "Oh my God" in shock.
Then she just screamed out the name of her TBBT co-star Jim Parsons. Once again, it felt like it was Penny and Sheldon on the Golden Globes stage.
This moment went viral and still warms the hearts of fans to this day.
