Ben Affleck Has Some Strong Words on Working With James Gunn
Ben Affleck has not been sitting around in the last few years: not only has he been consistently taking on new roles, but he has also been a director in his own movies.
Turns out, even that wasn't enough for the Hollywood star: while everyone was trying to get into his personal life, he wasn't idle, too.
Apparently, he and Matt Damon were very busy creating a new production company called Artists Equity.
The name is pretty self-explanatory, and the idea behind is noble: Affleck wants movie profits to be shared among all members of the film-making process, not just the actors and the big bosses.
Obviously, the news about his new production company put Ben Affleck under the spotlight yet again. He spoke about it with The Hollywood Reporter, among other things, and told more about the company and his vision.
During the interview, Ben also described his experience with DC as "miserable" and claimed that he wants to never do that kind of film again.
And when he was specifically asked if he'd refuse to even direct a movie for DC, his answer revealed Affleck's attitude towards James Gunn.
Turns out, Ben Affleck's really not a fan of his style.
"I would not direct something for the Gunn DC. Absolutely not. I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he's going to do a great job. I just wouldn't want to go in and direct in the way they're doing that. I'm not interested in that," he claimed.
Apparently, Affleck was not exaggerating when he said he was extremely tired of all things DC — and the way they do movies.
Claiming you'll refuse a big shark like Gunn if he were to come to you is a clear sign that Affleck is done with that chapter of his life.
We can only hope that his dream of creating a fair and modern production company comes to reality so he's able to direct and shoot movies exactly as he sees fit without having to eventually come back to Gunn one day.
