Who knows what the future may bring?

It's not uncommon for co-workers to become close friends. This happens all the time in the mundane world around us, and it happens just as often in Hollywood, where co-stars often share very fond memories of working together.

Perhaps because of the nature of their craft, it's hard for movie stars to develop meaningful relationships with each other.

Not only are they forced to play a character that may be very different from their own personality, but they also change teams and projects fairly quickly and have to adjust to a different group of people.

This makes true celebrity relationships much rarer and therefore much more valuable.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were lucky because their friendship began long before they became famous, back in their childhood. Bonded by common interests in sports and acting, the two began to make their way to the top.

Today, the success of their duo is recognized not only by hundreds of thousands of fans, but also by industry professionals and critics around the world.

Their most notable collaborations include Good Will Hunting, The Last Duel and the Nike drama Air. Good Will Hunting not only marked their debut, but also proved their quality by becoming an Oscar-winning film.

Naturally, the genuine emotion and care that two very good friends have for each other translates through the screen and into the hearts of the fans.

There's no doubt that people would come to any movie starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, not only for their individual talents, but for the chemistry that their duo can create.

Many joke that it is only a matter of time before the two share an on-screen kiss, but the funniest part is that they almost did.

There was a scene in The Last Duel in which they locked lips at one point, but it was cut by Ridley Scott himself before it was even filmed.

Speaking in the words of Affleck himself, "It's going to have to wait." After all, audiences are pretty sure they'll see the actor duo on screen together again, and no one knows what their roles will entail.
