From swapping babies to getting surgery to turn herself into a different person, Bold & Beautiful's Sheila Carter has certainly made some questionable choices, to say the least.

Many might even say the woman is completely unhinged. However, as evil as she may seem, it looks like she might actually have reasons to be this crazy.

Sheila Carter is undoubtedly one of the most iconic soap opera villains in daytime television history. After her introduction on The Young & the Restless in the early 1990s, the character also made a dramatic entrance on B&B. Ever since then, she has been causing chaos at every turn. However, she has committed so many heinous crimes that viewers have always wondered if there's a reason for her scheming ways or if she has simply lost her mind.

Well, as it turns out, Kimberlin Brown, the actress who portrays the villainess on the show, seems to have found a few interesting explanations for her character's behavior. She recently revealed her thoughts on B&B's talk show on YouTube, called Bold Live, where she answered viewers' questions.

Who's Raking in the Big Bucks on The Bold & The Beautiful?

According to her theory in response to a fan, something terrible must've happened in Sheila's past for her to become this way.

"I have to believe that something happened to Sheila when she was younger to make her the way she is," she explained, to which the host and supervising producer of the series Casey Kasprzyk added agreeingly, "Obviously."

But when another caller reached out, wanting to know if there were any plans for a backstory about Sheila's past, Brown went on to explain her thoughts in a little more detail. "In my mind, I've already created things that make what Sheila does believable to me, and in my mind, the things that happened to her as a child were pretty terrible, and her mother actually never stood up for her," Brown replied.

However, that's not the only thing that could've impacted the villain. In addition to a potentially troubled past, people can sometimes lose it when things don't go their way.

In fact, Brown has previously shed some light on the character and stated that while Sheila may be manipulative, it's not in a "bitchy" way but in a manner that gets things accomplished the way she wants them to be.

"When being nice and being diplomatic and being all of those things just don't work any longer, she snaps," she revealed.

While probably none of us can relate to that (at least we hope not) in the context of resorting to extreme measures, such as poisoning someone like Sheila did, Brown's theory is definitely fascinating.
