As if it could get any more emotional.

Schitt's Creek is perfect for relaxing and having fun, but you know what else it does flawlessly? Moving fans to tears when they least expect it.

Okay, to be fair, maybe the series finale is just the time to brace yourself for an emotional rollercoaster.

But no matter how heartbreaking the Happy Ending episode was for you, we're on our way to making it even worse.

In movies and TV shows, it's natural for the final scenes to be the most moving, but in the reality of filming, they're usually not the last for the cast and crew, who don't necessarily film everything in chronological order.

Well, for Schitt's Creek, everything lined up perfectly, so what you see in the final moments of season 6 episode 14 was actually the last scene for the cast and crew.

"The last scene we shot was the last scene of the show," Emily Hampshire, who plays Stevie, told BuzzFeed News. "So you can see a lot going on in that. It's not just the characters… It's also us saying goodbye to each other."

The important thing about Schitt's Creek is that it ended on a high note, and its creator and star, Daniel Levy, was often asked why he decided to end it so soon.

But as his father Eugene Levy points out in the little documentary Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt's Creek Farewell, the show ended "on a beautiful high" after six successful years, and the Canadian sitcom did not have to go through a period where the story would inevitably become repetitive and fans would grow increasingly dissatisfied.

Schitt's Creek aired on CBC from 2015 to 2020 for six seasons.
