Did somebody ask for more Charmaine? Even if you didn't, you're going to get it.

Virgin River season 5 was a wild ride for every fan, with the story ending on a cliffhanger and leaving people wanting more. And boy will they get more when the two Christmas specials are released.

However, the recent interview with the show's executive producer and showrunner Patrick Sean Smith already has fans fuming.

First of all, it looks like the two upcoming specials are not going to give us any kind of closure regarding the fifth season's cliffhangers; and secondly, it seems that the creator is a fan of a character no one else in the fandom seems to like.

Yes, we're talking about Charmaine. The funniest thing? Smith appears to realize that she is not particularly loved by fans. However, he noted that he specifically provided some redemption for Charmaine this season, because "she was starting to wear out her welcome as a character."

But instead of writing her out already, Smith wants more of her... for some reason.

"That's not to say she's not going to come back and create more drama, but I think it's going to be in a little bit different form," Smith told Glamour in an interview.

Fans have already rolled their eyes, knowing that season 5, unfortunately, wasn't the Charmaine swan song everyone hoped it to be. Many people already plan on "practicing disassociation with Charmaine's storyline," while others are fuming that Smith paid more attention to her in the interview than to the main characters.

Well, if the upcoming sixth season will have Charmaine in a "different form," then who knows? Maybe she will finally give birth after all those seasons of being pregnant.

While the release date for Virgin River season 6 is yet to be scheduled, we do know when to expect the two Christmas specials. Tune in on Netflix on November 30 to share the holiday atmosphere with your favorite Virgin River characters!
