Back To The Future Reboot? Yes Please — If Tom Holland Is Involved
Michael J. Fox may not be very fond of this idea, but fans need this to happen.
There is no doubt that Back To The Future will forever be remembered as one of the greatest sci-fi phenomena of all time.
After its release in 1985, the first Back To The Future film became popular not only in the U.S., but also worldwide, earning $222 million at the box office and becoming an undeniable hit.
Without the creative vision of director Robert Zemeckis and the acting talents of the two leads, there would have been no such success and no sequels in 1989 and 1990.
All the casting drama was worth it, as Marty McFly, portrayed by Michael J. Fox, and Emmet Brown, portrayed by Christopher Lloyd, made the movies what they are.
Of course, in today's Hollywood, where every older movie or franchise cries out for a reboot, Back To The Future is among the top contenders.
Not everyone is in favor of such a decision: there are plenty of viewers who would rather see something original than yet another reboot.
Even Fox himself was skeptical about the idea. He admitted in an interview with Variety that he doubts there's a "better way to tell the story."
However, if the day comes, fans already have a perfect recast for his character in mind. People are completely sold on the idea of Tom Holland doing an amazing Marty McFly.
Not only are the two actors slightly similar in type and appearance, they both have the charisma and youthful glow to carry on the role of the adventurous teen.
Tom Holland has already proven himself as Spider-Man for three Marvel movies, so he would probably be just as great in another franchise.
To help others get a better picture, some movie fan accounts have already pulled out some AI-generated illustrations to further prove how good Holland would look in a more futuristic Back To The Future reboot.
Now all that's left to do is find a director who isn't afraid to take on a project with such a big name.
As of now, there is no official confirmation that the Back To The Future reboot is in production. However, you can always re-watch the three original movies on Netflix, MAX or Amazon Prime Video.
