Aside From Harry, This Is the Only Character That Keeps Me Invested in Resident Alien
Big Black is the best character without doubt.
As a fan of sci-fi whatever, I still prefer the shows and movies that have at least some fun in them. And right now there's nothing better for me than Resident Alien. The show premiered in 2012 and finished its third season this spring. And I can say for sure that it just keeps getting better!
Resident Alien is full of eccentric people, with the main character played by Alan Tudyk, an alien in the earthly form of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigel, being the link between them all. But there's another character that keeps me glued to the screen when Resident Alien is on. And he wears a uniform...
"You can call me Big Black," Sheriff Mike Thompson, brilliantly portrayed by Corey Reynolds, once said, and he has won my heart ever since. Naive enough not to realize that people around him might not want to call him that lest they be accused of racism, he is still a guy who was immediately suspicious of Harry's shenanigans.
Although he is kind of a no-nonsense guy, he is still the one who makes me laugh the most with his never ending new discoveries. He is so much in denial that aliens exist (what an irony, right?), but he is literally for everything else being real. For example, it's absolutely non-negotiable that Bigfoot exists and lives in Seattle…
And of course, I am not the only one who fell in love with Big Black because of the nonsense he pulls off in every episode.
