Answers the questions everybody is afraid to ask.

The journey of self-discovery is always a difficult process, and it doesn't matter if you are a child, a teenager, or an adult. Each age brings its own difficulties to the process and makes people go through many unpleasant things before they find out who they are and what they really want in this life.

What helps people figure it all out are the close people around, who support them no matter what, and probably films and series with premises like that can also serve as a great tool. For example, this Canadian coming-of-age drama Before I Change My Mind is a great example to use in this case.

The movie just landed on AppleTV+ on March 5, and already has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, which means it definitely should become your next weekend watch.

Before I Change My Mind is directed by Trevor Anderson and had several screenings in 2022, before appearing in U.S. theaters on March 1 this year. It’s a story that revolves around a non-binary character named Robin. The events take place in 1987 – and yes, the time period doesn’t really help in that self-discovery journey.

The movie follows Robin’s family moving to Alberta, a small town in Canada, and them adjusting to their new life there. It’s actually funny to witness Robin trying to find out whether they are a boy or a girl, and also make new friends.

About friends, though, Robin decides to go an unusual way around a befriends Carter, the bully of the new school. In order to fit in, Robin ends up in many dangerous and rather questionable situations, but always finds a way around.

The movie was highly praised with critics, and was even named a must watch movie with queer agenda at the center of it. There are no clichés that are always used in the genre like that, and the 80’s aesthetics just add so much of the warm atmosphere to the picture.

So if you are ready to check out Before I Change My Mind, it’s now available on Apple TV+.
