There’s always something to look forward to.

To say that Masters of the Air on Apple TV Plus was an instant hit would be an understatement. Since its release, the show has been praised for its production team and cast, its extensive research, and the value that each episode brings to the table.

By successfully navigating historical moments that could have been controversial if done wrong, Masters of the Air has proven that there's still a place for something as serious as historical war drama on streaming platforms. As long as there is a budget and a determination to do justice to the important people and events in the way the story is told.

As exciting as the journey has been, Masters of the Air is coming to a close. The limited series will air its final episode on March 15, and many viewers are already bracing themselves for a tough, emotional farewell and a terrible content drought to follow. But that may not be the case.

Apple TV Plus already has Masters of the Air fans covered with another historical drama that deserves just as much attention and happens to premiere the very same day.

Apple TV Plus’ Manhunt Premiere Date

Based on the bestselling book Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer by James L. Swanson, the show will take viewers back to the events of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, which remains one of the most public, yet most misunderstood and mysterious crimes in U.S. history.

Not only will the series be the perfect choice for all history buffs, but it will also offer another look at a twisted story and the investigation that took place behind it. In addition, John Wilkes Booth, the actor who killed Lincoln, will be portrayed by none other than Masters of the Air alum Anthony Boyle.

Joining Boyle in the cast will be Tobias Menzies as Edwin Stanton, who has made it his top priority to hunt down and capture the actor who managed to escape. Lovie Simone, Matt Walsh and Brandon Flynn will also appear in supporting roles.

The show will consist of 7 episodes and will run from March 15 to April 19, 2024. In keeping with tradition, Apple TV Plus will premiere not one, but two episodes of the show this Friday to get everyone hooked, and the rest of the series will be released weekly. The series was created by showrunner Monica Beletsky, who's also credited as a writer for each episode.

If you're interested in seeing what Apple TV Plus can add to the never-ending conversation about one of the most scandalous and daring crimes in U.S. history, be sure to tune in to the streamer on March 15 to catch the Manhunt premiere.
