It's hard to ignore if it's a true match.

Today, Young Sheldon is not just a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, but it has earned its own place in the hearts of fans as an independent sitcom.

This was inevitable, as the show has not only been about young Sheldon for many years, but also about the rest of the Cooper family.

They all get quality time on screen, and even their stories don't feel like subplots, but rather the main ones, while Sheldon's storyline is now more of a supporting one as he grows up and moves out of the family home.

The rumors that the show is going to last longer than expected are spreading now, so the cast is probably really happy to continue working on the successful series.

Especially since some of them didn't hesitate when they were offered to become a part of the show.

That goes for Annie Potts, who played Sheldon's famous Meemaw in the prequel. In an interview with Glamour, she opened up about how she made the decision to join the sitcom.

She said it took her less than a few minutes of watching the pilot to understand that she would perfectly portray the character of Meemaw.

Fun fact: she had actually never seen The Big Bang Theory before, and probably didn't even know it existed. But as she now claims, she is very happy with the decision she made back then.

With all the effort Potts has put into her character, she has become one of the most appreciated by fans of the show. In fact, they say it's now impossible to imagine anyone else playing her role.

He developed the character and put her own details into Meemaw's personality. And that certainly helped her become a fan favorite.
