The actress bravely faced the challenges of filming the cult movie.

Anne Hathaway is one of the most recognizable actresses of our time.

She was Meryl Streep 's assistant in The Devil Wears Prada, tried on a Catwoman costume, interacted with Alice in Wonderland, and flown into space in Interstellar.

It was the filming of the latter movie that left the actress in fear for her life.

Anne Hathaway agreed to star in Christopher Nolan 's movie before reading the script – and she was right. The epic sci-fi movie still ranks high among the best movies of all time.

Numerous nominations for Oscars and other awards, rave reviews from critics and viewers – nearly three hours of space travel with a poignant love story left few indifferent.

For Hathaway, the embodiment of her character proved to be difficult. However, when Anne finally found a complete image, she realized that the scientist had some things in common with her.

The actress deliberately made Amelia a little repulsive and arrogant – in this contrast her transformation looked even brighter.

Hathaway "felt" the character not only psychologically, but also physically: she had to get used to the heavy suit.

While filming in icy water, Anne got into her spacesuit and it turned out that the suit's zipper was not fully closed.

The actress felt her body was burning from the freezing water, but she bravely continued working – it was inconvenient for her to stop filming.

At some point, however, she began to lose consciousness and only then signaled that something was wrong. The actress had to stay in ice water for several hours during the filming.

As a result, she began to suffer from hypothermia.

"I became tingly and couldn't feel anything and things were starting to get a bit hazy around the edges. I thought Chris [Nolan] is going to be way more annoyed if I die of hypothermia than he is if I speak up about it and maybe delay filming for five minutes," the actress shared in her interview with the Telegraph.

Despite all the difficulties, the actress speaks with enthusiasm about the filming of the movie: Interstellar, being a successful blockbuster and adventure movie, remains smart and deep, and you rarely see such a combination on screen.
