All You Need to Know About Love Hashira Before Watching Demon Slayer Season 3
With the official release of the anime just around the corner and the movie already in theaters, it's time to take a closer look at Demon Slayer season 3's key character, the Love Hashira.
Just as the second season focused on Tengen, the women's favorite, the third season will be dedicated to Mitsuri Kanroji.
The first time viewers met her was during Tanjiro's trial, when she offered to wait for Oyakata-sama and not make any hasty decisions.
While the Love Hashira is one of the most eye-catching characters in the anime, there's a reason to believe that viewers won't see much of her journey to becoming Hashira in season 3.
The anime is based on the manga about Tanjiro Kamado, in which Mitsuri's story is not revealed.
However, the mangaka could not leave such an outstanding character without a background, so an additional Rengoku Kyojuro Gaiden manga was released.

This is where we learn how Mitsuri developed her own breathing technique and became who she is in the main manga.
Mitsuri was trained by the Flame Hashira, Kyoujurou Rengoku, who is the protagonist of the full-length anime Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train.
At the beginning of her training with Rengoku, Mitsuri used the Flame Breathing technique, which did not suit her very well.

But later, in the heat of battle, an insight came to her and Mitsuri gained her signature Love Breathing technique. The side manga reveals her thorny path to becoming a Pillar, as well as her struggle with complexes and insecurities.
It was Rengoku who helped her to gain self-confidence and the understanding that she didn't have to sacrifice her femininity and grace in order to be a powerful Hashira.
While Mitsuri's development is not vital to the plot of the Swordsmith Village Arc, and we probably won't see it there, knowing the Love Hashira's background adds depth to many aspects of the main manga and anime.
You can already see Tenjiro's full introduction to Mitsuri in To The Swordsmith Village movie in theaters, and the official release of the third season of Demon Slayer will take place on April 9th.
