All GoT Seasons, Ranked From Classic To We Want To Unsee It By IMDb Users
We all know what the worst one is going to be.
Game of Thrones was and still is the show that provokes a whole lot of discussion about it.
From the controversial finale to the nature of the main characters, and all the changes showrunners decided to introduce the original source material by George R. R. Martin into the adaptation.
Although there are some very widespread and popular opinions on some of the topics, nothing speaks better than ratings provided by the users of the most popular industry online portals.
Here are all GoT seasons ranked from the very best to worst, according to the episode ratings on IMDb.
8. Season 4 – 9.30
Season 4 was not only the middle of the story, but also had the highest average rating for its 10 episodes. This time could definitely be called the prime of Game of Thrones.
7. Season 7 – 9.20
It may come as a total surprise considering how short the season was, but fans seemed to enjoy it much more than expected. With only one episode not reaching the 9-point mark, Season 7 becomes a second favorite.
6. Season 1 – 9.12
Despite having the same average as Season 6, Season 1 was much more consistent, with no episodes falling below the 8.7 mark. Besides, this is the season that started the beautiful journey, so it deserves some respect.
5. Season 6 – 9.12
Although it's technically tied for second place with Season 1, that's only thanks to the two final episodes of the season, both of which were rated 9.9 by viewers. The otherwise weak season was completely saved by the strong ending.
4. Season 3 – 9.1
Close on the heels of Season 3 and one of the highest-rated episodes of the entire series, Episode 9 with a 9.9 rating. This episode was strong support for the good but by no means an outstanding season.
3. Season 2 – 9.03
Almost in 5th place again is season 2, another one from the beginning. Still following the book material, it managed to stay consistently above average and deserves a 9/10 rating.
2. Season 5 – 8.9
The last season with the story written by George R. R. Martin seemed to be a disappointment for the fans, which was only redeemed towards the end. 8.9 is by no means a bad average, but we just know how much better GoT can do.
1. Season 8 – 7.0
Whether these reviews were fair or given out of spite for what was going on in the show, they ended up ruining Season 8's ratings forever. The GoT finale is the lowest-rated episode of all 8 seasons, 5.2.
