All 10 Actors Cast in Superman: Legacy So Far

The first chapter of the new DC Universe, Gods and Monsters, begins with a new Man of Steel movie. Superman: Legacy won't be a retelling of the superhero's origin story – it will tell us about Superman's attempts to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.

While we all eagerly await the movie's premiere, which is scheduled for July 11, 2025, let's take a look at all the actors who have been cast in the roles.

1. David Corenswet – Superman

Corenswet became famous thanks to his roles in Ryan Murphy's shows. In 2019, The Politician was released, in which the actor was a candidate for the post of head of the student council, and in 2020, in the miniseries Hollywood he played a World War II veteran who dreamed of an acting career.

In 2019, Corenswet said that he would like to play the Man of Steel, understanding that he does bear resemblance to Henry Cavill. While he liked Cavill's dark version of Superman, he himself would like the next Superman to be more optimistic.

2. Rachel Brosnahan – Lois Lane

Rachel Brosnahan is a star of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, considered one of the best comedy shows today. For her role as a housewife who decides to become a stand-up comedian in the late 1950s, Brosnahan was nominated for five Emmy Awards and won two Golden Globes.

The actress has not yet had any notable roles in major films, although she did star in the thriller The Courier with Benedict Cumberbatch and the western Dead for a Dollar.

3. Nicholas Hoult – Lex Luthor

The famous Beast of the X-Men tried to become Superman, but David Corenswet snatched that opportunity. Therefore, Hoult decided to become Superman's main enemy.

Lex Luthor is a brilliant scientist and talented businessman who has created one of the largest corporations in the world. He sees Superman as a threat to humanity and dreams of ridding the world of the Last Son of Krypton, serving as the antagonist in most of the Man of Steel stories.

4. Anthony Carrigan – Metamorpho

Anthony Carrigan, who received an Emmy Award nomination in July 2023 for his supporting role in the TV series Barry, is already familiar to many viewers. Before Barry, he appeared in the show Gotham, where he played the role of Victor Zsasz, and also in the TV series The Flash, in the role of Kyle Nimbus.

The actor will play Metamorpho, who made his comic book debut in 1965. According to lore, the superhero's real name is Rex Mason. After being irradiated by a meteorite, the man's appearance changed and he got the power to transform parts of his body into various chemical compounds.

5. Isabela Merced – Hawkgirl

Isabela is a singer and actress whose career began with the 2013 film The House That Jack Built (not the one directed by Lars von Trier). In 2014, Isabela played the role of Jenny in Growing Up Fisher, and in 2016, she joined the cast of Transformers 5: The Last Knight.

Hawkgirl is one of DC Comics' first female superheroes, who gained her powers while exploring an ancient Egyptian tomb.

6. Sara Sampaio – Eve Teschmacher

Sara Sampaio had a small role on Billions, but you probably know her as a Victoria's Secret model. She will play the role of Lex Luthor's assistant named Eve Teschmacher.

Eve did not make her debut in the comics, but in the 1978 movie Superman, where she was played by Valerie Perrine.

7. Skyler Gisondo – Jimmy Olsen

Skyler Gisondo is best known for his role as Shawn Spencer in the show Psych and for his role as Tommy Doyle in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2007. In 2014, he starred in the final installment of the trilogy Night at the Museum.

Jimmy Olsen is a reporter who is a close friend of Lois'. In Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Michael Cassidy also played a darker version of the character as a CIA agent posing as a photographer.

8. Maria Gabriela De Faria – The Engineer

Maria Gabriela De Faria is now one of the rising stars of Hollywood. Her role as Isa Pasquali in the teen series Isa TKM brought her national fame, and in 2019 she starred in the TV show Deadly Class.

As a result of a successful operation to replace blood with metal nanorobots, the engineer (real name Angela Spica) learned to create living mechanisms, materialize weapons, clone herself, fly and cover her body with an armor-piercing shell.

9. Edi Gathegi – Mister Terrific

You probably know Edi Gathegi – he played the dreadlocked vampire, Laurent, in Twilight.

Mister Terrific is a man of amazing intelligence, a brilliant strategist and inventor who created a device called the T-Sphere to help him in battle.

10. Nathan Fillion – Green Lantern

Fans were not surprised that James Gunn invited Fillion to join the project, as the actor often works with the director. Fillion appeared in Gunn's films Slither, Super and The Suicide Squad, in which he played TDK.

Guy Gardner, a member of the Green Lantern Corps who appeared in comics in the late 60s. The filmmakers have confirmed that his look in the movie will be close to his appearance in the comics.
