AI Imagines LotR Characters as Cats; Gollum is Pure Nightmare Fuel

There's a lot of darkness in the Lord of the Rings universe, but thanks to AI, even the franchise's scariest characters, like Nazgul or Sauron, can be turned into cute and beautiful cats....Well, with a few exceptions.

On an Instagram page the_ai_dreams, you can see how artificial intelligence has transformed the iconic characters into cats. From the cute, shy, ring-wearing Frodo kitten to the giant, noble black cat Sauron, just about every character would rock in the feline world.

But when it comes to Gollum... Well, he seems to be the one character who just cannot be cute, even in cat form.

"This Gollum abomination made me realize that AI doesn't just have trouble drawing human fingers," Redditor DavideoGamer55 noted.

Indeed, AI often fails to draw human fingers correctly, while generally doing a good job with the rest. But even though Gollum looks like something out of a cat's nightmare, some fans still felt the urge to adopt him immediately. Some people even joked that even the Midjourney AI could not handle Gollum, and that it was just a normal picture of the character instead of a cat version.

But can you imagine the joy of having this Gollum as a pet? I'm pretty sure he'll be sneaking around the house and hissing all the time. Knowing Gollum, you might want to find a safe place for all your jewelry...
