Episode 4 ends with a huge reveal that could either take the series to new heights or plunge it into frustrating disappointment.

Ever since the announcement of the Ahsoka TV series, there have been rumors and speculations that the titular Jedi's former Master, Anakin Skywalker, would make an appearance in the show, and various clues have only supported that claim.

Many fans wondered if he would appear in a flashback or as a Force ghost, considering that Anakin, or Darth Vader, is long gone by the time the show takes place, returning to the light just before his death at the end of Episode VI.

Now, the just-released episode 4 of the series has finally provided an answer to the mystery, setting up arguably the most cathartic scene for Ahsoka since the character first appeared in the Clone Wars animated series back in 2008.

After losing a battle with Baylan Skoll, Ahsoka awakens in the World Between Worlds, an interdimensional plane first seen in Star Wars Rebels and used by Ezra Bridger to save Ahsoka from inevitable death at Vader's hands.

There she is reunited with Anakin, who greets his former apprentice by calling her "Snips," a nickname he gave her when they first met years ago.

It is unclear whether he is actually a Force ghost, as he lacks the characteristic blue glow around him, but perhaps the World Between Worlds has allowed him to take on a more material form.

This sets up an immensely important moment for the two of them to reconcile and say their final goodbyes, considering that during their last and final meeting, Anakin was still Darth Vader and almost killed her if not for Ezra's intervention.

While it was an incredibly powerful scene, many fans were frustrated that Anakin never contacted his former Padawan from beyond the grave, as many deceased Jedi are able to do, leaving their story somewhat incomplete.

Now it seems that the show's creator, Dave Filoni, has taken their words into account, and the next episode will give us the long-overdue and much-needed conclusion to their story arc, which began an astonishing fifteen years ago.

Of course, there is the possibility that it will turn out to be some elaborate trick by the villains, but that turn of events would be so frustrating that it is highly unlikely that Filoni would have chosen it over a beautiful final reunion for the two of them. At least we hope so.

Do you agree that Ahsoka and Anakin deserve one last reunion?
