Age Is Just A Number: Harrison Ford Says It’s Time For Him To Grow Up
Leaving the character of Indiana Jones behind is just the next step in the iconic actor's career.
Following Harrison Ford 's official announcement that he is permanently stepping down from playing one of his most iconic characters, Indiana Jones, and that the upcoming fifth film will be the last time we see him as the legendary archaeologist, one might think that the 80-year-old actor's retirement might be imminent.
But it seems that this is just the next step in Ford's career and the Hollywood veteran has no intention of calling it quits, at least not yet.
In an interview with Chris Wallace, the actor said that he has no plans to retire because he loves his craft and "doesn't do well when he doesn't have work."
Ford explained that he loves to feel useful and is "naturally affected" by the projects he takes part in, making it clear that he still has passion all these years later.
As for the role of Indiana Jones, when asked if it was bittersweet to finally say goodbye to the character, Harrison replied that it wasn't and that "it's time for him to grow up."
Fans are impressed that Ford still has passion and energy for his work, as many of them grew up watching movies starring the iconic actor and are happy that he will continue to give great performances for some time to come.
Doing something you enjoy is a big part of staying healthy at his age, and as long as audiences still want to see his movies, there is no need for Ford to retire.
And it seems that he is indeed still in demand, as fans love his portrayal of Dr. Paul Rhoades in the comedy-drama TV series Shrinking, proving once again that Harrison is just as good in other genres as he is in action movies.
In addition to starring in the aforementioned series and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which will be released June 30, 2023, Ford will also appear in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, scheduled for a July 26, 2024 release.
There he will portray Thaddeus Ross, replacing William Hurt, who passed away on March 13, 2022.
